Marketing/Outreach Coordinator
Position Summary: The Advanced Technical Intelligence Center for Human Capital Development (ATIC), an independent 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization, seeks an experienced professional to join its management team as a Marketing/Outreach, and Workforce Development Coordinator. The individual selected will analyze markets and develop advertisement strategies to increase awareness and recruit students. Responsibilities include the creation and implementation of direct mail, e-marketing programs, professional society relations, print and web-based advertising, and coordination of appropriate trade shows. ATIC markets are academic, research, corporate, and government institutions, both locally and nationally. The ATIC Marketing/Outreach Coordinator maintains frequent contact with various ATIC government and industry confederation partners and personnel, faculty, students, interns, media representatives, and the public. The position reports to the ATIC Staff Director.
Description: This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and performing a variety of marketing and outreach activities to promote interest in ATIC's five business lines, 1) Short Courses, 2) Certificate Programs, 3) Degree Programs, 4) Event Hosting, and 5) Research, Training & Educational Activities. Plan, develop and implement ATIC marketing and outreach strategies; coordinate the ATIC event calendar. Perform marketing and outreach activities to promote awareness of ATIC programs, services and events. Design, write, edit and prepare ATIC marketing and outreach materials for distribution to local media, the public, ATIC customers and industry partners, and ATIC confederation colleges and universities. Attend various community and media events, as assigned, to represent the ATIC and promote center programs and services; prepare and present oral presentations concerning the ATIC. Maintain an inventory of ATIC and program-specific promotional and marketing materials; order and track supplies and prepare purchase requisitions; forecast and track budgets and expenditures. Learn and apply emerging technologies and advances as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner. Coordinate activities with Training and Educations Directors, and perform related duties as assigned by the Staff Director.
The candidate will:
- Identify and work with industry groups, organizations, and/or employers to bolster program participation within the Advanced Technical Intelligence Community
- Inform and educate target audiences about the program's goals, services, requirements, and processes
- Work with community partners to identify ways to create and increase referrals to the program
- Create and execute public awareness campaigns
- Respond to requests for information from the public; distribute promotional materials, including flyers, brochures and press kits; prepare and present information to internal and external sources
- Coordinate and present at special events which may include open houses, fundraisers, outreach and community events, exhibits, school events
- Participate in job fairs, industry forums, and college career days; communicate with regional job placement centers
- Conduct market research activities to identify targeted populations, including potential sponsors, and to identify the appropriate media for distribution of promotional information
- Maintain database records and files including mailing and potential member information
- Manage Portfolio of Contractor E-Scholarships (PAES) student intern program
- Solicit sponsorship from the members of the ATIC Confederation to assist in providing scholarships, internship opportunities, and cooperative programs for PAES
- Lead and/or guide the work of others including student interns
- Perform duties as the ATIC Workforce Development Committee Coordinator, to include meeting coordination, resource scheduling, subject matter evaluation, scheduling training facilities, and other support as required
- Occasional evening work is required
Qualifications: Qualified candidates must perform as a confident and professional representative of the ATIC at industry functions. Other qualifications include:
- Excellent written/ communication skills with phone and/or customer service experience
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Develop and prepare marketing strategies
- Knowledge of marketing processes, and available community resources
- Ability to use independent judgment to plan, organize and coordinate special events
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Use a variety of computer software to perform functions such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Learn and use new and emerging technologies; analyze situations accurately and identify an effective course of action
- Plan, organize and prioritize work; meet schedules and time lines
- Work independently with little direction
- Ability to assess and put forth a strategy to pursue work, grow markets
- Ability to work with ATIC directors and business development managers to enact long term strategies
- Ability to develop market plans and goals
- Ability to research and report on markets, trends, etc.
Education & Certifications: Bachelors Degree in marketing, journalism, public relations or business related field, with a minimum of five years of related experience and a proven track record in marketing and outreach activities; sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
Clearances: Applicants must be a US Citizen. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to top secret/SCI information.
