About ATIC
The Advanced Technical Intelligence Center for Human Capital Development is a nonprofit center that is teaming with the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright State University, Clark State Community College, and other colleges and universities to offer education and training in intelligence and sensor-technology skills for government and defense contractor jobs.
Exponential growth in the use of technical intelligence, e.g., Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT)/Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT)--combined with the increased application of Human Intelligence (HUMINT) and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)--by the Intelligence Community (IC) and warfighters is severely straining the technical intelligence workforce, leading to a nationwide shortage of specialized expertise with appropriate clearances. ATIC was established in 2007 as a nonprofit corporation to meet this critical national shortfall.
The ATIC curriculum includes certificate and degree programs, short courses, and a MASINT/ GEOINT/AGI laboratory to support the integration and testing of sensor data standards. Future enhancements to ATIC may include a simulated MASINT/GEOINT data operations center with links to actual operational data streams from intelligence sensors. The training is intended to prepare individuls to fill as many as 500 jobs that will be needed to support intelligence missions being relocated to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base by 2011.
